Thanks for spelling it out PigletJohn. Obviously nobody could have understood my point otherwise.

These girls faced the danger of pregnancy from sex, and also were stigmatised if they did have sex, yet somehow those double standards were ignored in the film. Sandy was made out to be a prude and unreasonable because she didn't want to have sex with John Travolta, and it was seen as a happy ending that she because a sexbot.
