I was looking for a birthday card for my daughter yesterday. I variously went into two specialist card shops and a well-known national newsagent chain. Pretty much every card (and there were lots) for a daughter was in the dreaded pink, most with pink envelopes. The couple I looked at that were not pink sadly had the most mawkish verses.
So what's new you say? All little girls' stuff is now pink...
Except my daughter is 39 years old!
The pink plague is now striking middle aged women 
Footnote: I did finally manage to get a lovely non-pink card - from my local Post Office. Bless 'em.
