Delighted to see the succession laws have finally changed, but will it make any real difference to women (as opposed to a woman who might get to be queen one day...)

Some people seem to think that I'm anti-Tory. Let me assure you I hold all the political parties in equal contempt. I'm forrin' and hold no allegiance to any of the bastards.

But you can't deny that the current cut are effecting women far more disproportionately than they are men. And I can't help but see this as a way to placate us. Call me a cynic....

I just Googled 'budget cuts affecting women', and got so many relevant articles back on how women are being worse affected that I couldn't choose one. So I've linked to the results page and you can choose one yourself.

Annie - that is indeed scary- I am sticking my head in the sand until next year and the universal credit comes into place to see how worse off I will be. Sad

Re DC - I don't think it will have been anything to do with him tbh. The Commonwealth wheels grind very slowly... It would have happened now no matter who was PM, wouldn't be surprised (or is perhaps just hopeful?) that Wills made it a condition of his marriage. So they probably tabled it at the last CHOGM at least.
