Music - just for the boys?

just watching 'Scotland's greatest album' on catch up. A panel of 6 with one woman who (so far, I'm only 10 mins in) seems to be either struggling to be heard or has nothing to say, and Claire Grogan as the presenting toots. Was there really only one Scottish woman muso available? Or is music still just for the boys?

"I do think that obsessively becoming 'into' a band (or sport, or anything, really) tends to be more of a male characteristic. Women seem to be more balanced in their interests/hobbies."

had to LOL at this.

have you considered the fans of the boybands.

Yes, I have considered the fans of the boybands, do any of them argue over what is the best tune that Westlife had to the point of not speaking to each other ever again (like male fans of certain bands do when it comes to arguing over who is better Keith or Mick). Nah. Course not. Wink
I tell you, some rock band forums are just oozing with male anarok-iness.

I've seen forty year old women fight over cliff richards' songs.
and similar with tom jones.

seen women fight over football and rugby teams + players.

anorakness is not just a male trait.
but then thats a whole other thread.

and just as an aside in the whole of the football season no male has won the football scores competition at work yet :)
