- The fact that these type of shoes are referred to as 'property porn' shows how normalised porn has become.
- Kirsty is quite a good role model because she doesn't confrom to how how women on tv are supposed to look. She is a houshold name but you dont see her on the cover of 'sleb mags celebrating her latest weight loss. She didn't marry her DC's dad and kept her own property when she moved in with him. She is very much the leader of the presenters unlike most shows where the man is the lead and the woman exists for decoration.
- In the relocation programmes there is an odd trend of 2 home families where the dad stays in town during the week and comes home to his SAHM wife at the weekends. This gender split is never questioned. (Although that is probably reasonable within the context of the show)
- Quite often Kirsty leads the woman to the kitchen, with a kind of subtext that there is the expectation, usually accurate, that this is where she will be spending most of her time.
- On the other hand there is an acknowledgement that it is often the woman who 'wears the trousers' in the housebuying decisions. I think this sets quite a good example.
