Prostitute cards in the phone box - what can I do?

So I've got really really sick of them. The two phone boxes between my house and the tube/shops, which I pass at least twice a day, are perpetually covered in loads of really pornographic prostitute adverts. They are replenished throughout the day, ie they'll be taken down and go back up within hours, it seems.

I'm sick of having this at eye level. It makes me even more sick when they end up all over the pavement on the route loads of small children take to and from school.

Apart from taking them all down every time I pass by (bit worried I'll get threatened by whoever puts them up) what can I do?

I live in a part of London where if you mispark your car you're guaranteed a ticket within minutes, but this kind of thing can't be policed??

I doubt they will do anything but have you tried the council?

that says it all, doesn't it? Sad

There is not a damn thing you can do I am afraid.

You know that some children make collections of them?
Like football cards, but free. They get confiscated in school if detected.

Quodlibet · 15/04/2011 14:10

Goblinchild that makes me feel physically ill.

I'll badger the council.

Goblinchild that is exactly why there needs to be something done about it Sad

Tell BT. They charge for ads in phone booths and take a dim view of freeloaders.

FruitShootsChocolateThieves · 15/04/2011 15:58

take them down, photoshop them adding the line "get the first month for free!" put fake ones back. I should think that would stop them!

TheMonster · 15/04/2011 16:01

Great idea, FruitShoot!

Liking FruitShoot! Any chance of "Your call may be recorded for training purposes"? Arf Arf

The problem is also that rival groups take down cards and replace them with their own, so you could put all that work in to find it only lasts a few hours. Depends how heavy the traffic is in your area and how many are using it.
