It's a year today.

I don't think TomTech knew quite what he was unleashing.

(Just out of interest, if you didn't realise it was a year, did you think it was longer or shorter?)

Feels like less than a year to me... although maybe that's because I was lurking for so long!

Happy birthday to Mumsnet feminism!

can't believe how many books I've read thanks to the Feminist Book Club. That's been an amazing education.

Actually the best thing for me has been 'meeting' other women who I can discuss feminism with. It's been so long since I've really thought about the subject that I'm been inspired by everyone's enthusiasm.

I also really appreciate having a safe (ish) space to discuss the issues that affect mainly women. There is of course the occasional twat around but generally the discourse is really intelligent and interesting.

Hurrah for all of us. We should have a virtual party :o

Well, it's already changed my life and I've only been on for a few weeks....!

God it's felt like loads longer! I barely remember mumsnet pre feminism topic! It's been great, the best thing to happen to the internet since ...um.....sliced bread.

I can't quite believe it's a year, it's been absolutely bloody brilliant so far, and what with some of us meeting up at real events, and the banner coming on, and all the letters we've written, and the boycotting, and the tweeting and the general day to day agitation, I think we've proved that feminism is alive and determined.

I have learnt an unbelievable amount, and more than anything this place makes me feel supported and equipped to confront sexism and misogyny wherever I find it.

So THANK YOU all for that. You are a wonderful bunch of women.
