Oh FFS! 'Fairer sex' in article about bridging gender gap!

Was very excited to learn that the article about the JMOTB event I'm organising is in the local paper today. Sent big DDs out to pick up a couple of copies. Delighted it's there, of course, and not anti-feminist at all.

But they got the flipping time wrong by 45 minutes, didn't put in any links as I asked them to, and wrote:

"To mark the 100th anniversary of International Women's Day, members of the fairer sex are urged to gather..." Hmm

Ho hum...better wait until 5.15pm to do my speech in case anyone turns up because of the article in the paper...

But seriously? 'Fairer sex'!?

Right, will stop complaining now - overall it's a good article, and she does mention, as I pressed her to, that the situation in the UK is also not equal.

Yes, welcome to the press. I had a similar thing once, that anyone who knew me could tell I would never have said for that kind of reason.

Still good to have the publicity though Grin

Time is a right pain though!

PMSL and

Good for you for organising it though! Oh and btw Flamingo, I haven't had a chance to read your book properly yet - can't read it at work and my iphone is all i've got at home and no chance on that! So I'm not ignoring it, just have to wait til I actually have a home again. :)

No worries, Elephants. Is kind of on the backburner right now while I get all this feminist activism out of the way! Grin
