Sat waiting at the physio, I was pleased to find a new magazine. Turned out it was an advertorial for cosmetic surgery, but rather than read a Womens Own from 2007, I read it.

Only to find that one of the advertisers in it was a local private girls school, who allegedly pride themselves on producing confident girls, resilient to the modern world etc. Do they not see the irony in advertising in something aimed at getting women to alter themselves ? Gah.

Bloody hell
I'd write to the school and check they actually know the sort of magazine they're paying to advertise in. Though actually, it doesn't surprise me all that much and I wonder if it's a school near me? South west, well known as an absolute hub for eating disorders :(

i would not be surprised in the slightest to see that

Not SW, W Midlands. It just seems so wrong somehow

could be worse I suppose, when they start advertising cosmetic surgery in the school mag (along with the hockey reports and the bad poems by 13 year olds) I will be even more worried.

They know that the women who can afford surgery are the same ones who can afford private education.
