i remember that, she was absolutely DEMONISED. it was a real eye opener.

Yep those parts of that book were truly shocking. Sad thing is I have also read shocking things about when women went into parliament in '97.

Just that its not a very well known book Alice and I was ever so slightly involved in its publication and was there at the publication party. But I was a fully grown adult of 26 or 27 at the time and you were obviously only just old enough to remember it so, no, I doubt our paths have crossed. But am so PLEASED that someone else knows the book.

Yes it is weird and I hate it.

Never forget when I was about 14 and on the tube and the man sitting next to me was sitting there with his paper open on page 3, sort of holding it pointed a bit at me. Stare at tits, stare at me, stare at tits, stare at me. Push leg against mine and shake newspaper so I look at tits and go bright red. Etc and so on.

Hate it. Have always felt really uncomfortable in that type of situation and don't understand when others don't TBH, or don't understand why anyone would be uncomfortable.
