I'm getting really angry about this. It's the patriarchy in action.
To those who weren't at the London feminist conference and amazing speech was given by a Congalese woman on the atrocities committed against women in the Congo and the role of the US and UK governments in this. Also the ingenuity of British charities who try to co-opt and take over whenever a Congalese activist tries to do something for grass roots women in the Congo.
Her speech was an eye-opener, and very passionate, sad and moving.
It has been edited on the net because of the political implications.
So I don't really have anything to say or add, just that this is how women are silenced every day, and why the feminist movement takes so long to get off the ground. Women cannot mobilize other women if they're not allowed to be heard

I think ingenuity covers it too in a different way. :( I've just contacted a woman I know from Million Women Rise to ask her if it's going to be made available online.
