And also there was no contstructive stuff in the video pointing towards how to avoid this happening to you, except presumably to not go out and meet boys.

I mean, how is a girl watching that to react? Well I'll live a life of celibacy then? Lest my boyfriend turns out to want to force me into prostitution?

Perhaps I am naive but I truly understood the videos message as it can happen to anyone, afterall the people it's aimed at helping are the females that get roped in aren't they? A way of humanising the victim as opposed to making the predator faceless. the good looking, fun and manipulative bf could have been anyone, he didn't look like a pimp and she didn't look like a prostitute. If the video focussed on the perp then who would watch, what emotions would be invoked? Would girls watching think that they wouldn't get conned and so it was irrelevant?

Perhaps we could get the director in for a chat.

SGM....wow that's great. See my understanding means I'm 'down with the kids'!!

(did anyone else find the director a little self promoting btw as opposed to championing the cause?

Really glad it had that effect on a teenage girl. I really WANT it to work well to raise awareness, I just worried that so many of my friends (women aged 23-27) saw it as a moral tale.

I still wonder what on earth a blanching teenage girl can do to avoid that fate herself, having watched the video though. but I guess that's what the website's for.
