To all of us who have made a Brownie/Guide promise over the years - tonight at 20.10 is when we celebrate the end of our 100 years of Guiding year with the Vision events which are taking place all over the country - it's all about remmebering the good that Guiding has done for generations of young girls and looking to the future! I shall probably cry this evening as 3000 girls meet in our town with their lanterns to remake their promise Smile

What positive things do you rememeber from your Guiding days?

Sorry nothing Lucycat as I thought brownies etc was silly Blush but having read more I think they do some great stuff so hope you have a wonderful evening with the girls. :)

Ooo stacks. Eating too many sweets on camps, trying to do the badges no-one else had (I am a contrary thing), playing ladders, getting a letter published in Guiding Magazine (!) and I recall being really enamoured with the red toadstall thing.

Have a great evening lucycat

I can sew on a button and still do it the way I was taught at Brownies. Still do the washing up the same way as I was taught too.

Oh and I can sucessfully tie pieces of cane together! Grin Fond memories of my washing up bowl falling through the hole in my wash stand gadget, when there was water in it though! Grin

I'm not going with my Rainbows tonight. Family things have taken over, but I will say my promise in my head at 8.10!

OH and thank god it's all over! It's been an exhausting year for the volunteers that look after your girls for no pay and very little subs! WinkGrin
