Good on the Canadian's for banning an ad on the grounds that it objectifies women - although they didn't use that language exactly:

Story here.

"We, as public officials representing a municipal government, cannot endorse this image of Ms. Anderson," wrote Josée Rochefort, an official in charge of issuing permits with the city's television and film office.

"It is not so much controversial as it goes against all principles public organizations are fighting for in the everlasting battle of equality between men and women."

Good news. It could of been a good ad as the basic message is eating non-human animals is the same as eating human animals. But, PETA are fundamentally sexist. sigh

PETA are also fond of using racist memes in their campaigns too: www.feministe.us/blog/archives/2009/02/10/peta-racism-goes-into-overload/

Oh interesting. Interesting that they didn't label her brain, a part of an animal that lots of people eat. Hmmm.

I like the term "nixed"

Am glad it was banned

However, I also think it should never see the light of day because of the extreme use of airbrushing/photo-shopping

Pamela Anderson just does not look like that !

Isn't this based on an image used to comment on women being seen as meat? Sure I've seen this before.

Can't find it on google though
