Since August I have noticed that I am experiencing anxiety and sleep problems as soon as my period finishes? I used to feel crappy during the luteal phase but now that is when I feel my best! Confused as to why this is happening all of a sudden. I am 43. Thanks for reading x

That swap you describe, feeling rough just as your period ends rather than beforehand, is a pattern that does crop up more in the mid forties, as oestrogen stops rising and falling steadily and starts to fluctuate more erratically. It might be worth jotting down how you feel day by day over the next couple of cycles, just to see if this is a new settled pattern or a one-off from August. If it does hold, you could try planning anything demanding, work or otherwise, around the days that tend to hit you hardest. If the anxiety or sleep trouble worsens or really starts affecting you, it's worth mentioning to your GP, since there's support beyond just riding it out.

Thanks for your reply - and good idea, I’ll keep a record - I am hoping it’s a phase that will settle 🤞honestly, since turning 42 last year my hormones appear to have gone haywire!!
