Uterine polyp!

So I got diagnosed with endometriosis and adenomyosis! I also have a uterine polyp.

since having the polyp my pain has been nearly everyday. I had a laparoscopy surgery in 2023 for the endo.

since I’ve had the polyp I’ve noticed my periods are even heavier, having more pelvic and lower back pain. ive also been a lot more dischargy and my vagina has become sore. Since August I had swabs at my GP which everything came back negative apart form BV which was treated with antibiotics!!

on mumsnet people said to go to the GUM clinic as they may be more helpful. They done swabs again and bloods which all came back negative. When she looked at me she said everything looks normal apart from being very dry down below. i was also on my period at the time.

I got referred to my gynaecologist in April and I only now have an appt to him him end of November.

I was wondering did anyone get pain with a polyp? Online it says they cause bleeding inbetween periods (which I’ve started to get).

thank you for reading! X

Uterine polyps do not normally cause pain, these emit hormones that can interfere with ovulation and cause bleeding between periods. These can be removed via general anaesthetic.

Endo can cause heavy bleeding and pain and it’s likely this have flared up again. It could well be that you will now need further lap type surgery. You will need to speak to the gynaecologist.

Thank you for response! I’m seeing my gynaecologist at the end of next month. I just feel since the polyp the pain has been sooo much worse! It’s a polyp on the fungus of my uterus. X
