Heavy bleeding and large clots after coming off the pill

I’ve had a really weird period this month. It started a few days ago completely normally although after a 25 day cycle which is a bit short for me. Then, after 1.5 days of flow, it completely stopped. Then a day later, it’s back and heavier than I’ve ever had. Today, I’ve passed some huge clots, I’m needing to change pad every 1.5 hours. I waited 1.5 hours before my last change and had leaked out of the sides. Other than this, I’m feeling okay. Cramps no more than normal. My boobs have stopped aching. I’m very tired though.
What could be causing this and when do I seek medical attention if at all?

I came off the pill early July and this is my 4th period since then. Could it just be it all getting back on track? It’s quite alarming seeing this amount of blood. I’m 32 with 2 children and have never in my life had a period like this.

I’m also due to have a cervical ectropion frozen tomorrow so I doubt they can even do it with this heavy bleeding.

Would love to hear anyone else’s experiences. Thanks!

Please see your GP ASAP, this is not normal and you shouldn't have to put up with this.

I’ve known it take a long time for people’s cycles to properly even out after the pill. You don’t really know what your bodies normal is yet. So no I wouldn’t rush to the GP.

I do wonder if the extra tiredness is low iron though if you’ve had heavier bleeding than normal consistently.

Well I’ll be seeing a gynaecologist tomorrow so I’ll ask them and hopefully they’ll have some guidance. I’ve taken pictures of leaking pads and the clots, not particularly nice but at least I have them for reference and can show them
tomorrow if needed.
Thankfully, the bleeding has slowed down now.

Thanks @PinkWaffleMaker and @Doradormouse for replying - appreciate it!
