Is it safe to take extra D-mannose as a preventative?

Can I double up and take 2000mg d mannose (two tablets) for when I have sex as an extra preventative. I’m taking a 1000mg a day at the moment before bed. I know it can’t 100% stop but it’s more for my reassurance. I see a lot of people take 2000mg online but my Holland and Barrett capsules say one a day and it’s 1000mg

I’ve done this with no ill effects. They’re basically sugar though, so be careful if you’re diabetic. ❤️

I do this and have done for ages. Not noticed any side effects

D-Mannose? As in… sugar? because mannose is just a simple sugar.

I have 1000mg but it says to take 2 a day, I don’t always take two usually just one but sometimes I’ve had two and I’ve been ok

When I was having regular sex I used to swear by (both partners) washing before sex. Also oral sex before intercourse and considering position to avoid bruising the bladder. Sorry if I’m late to the party here.

@Harriette678 it's better not to take them continuously though.
Once initial symptoms have improved take at the first sign of symptoms or preventatively if that helps.
