Myosure polyp removal

I was told today that I will need a large polyp removed from my ovary. It will be done using the Myosure procedure.

For anyone who's had one done: painkillers did you take beforehand? Was gas and air sufficient during the procedure?

Any other tips for pain management?

Myosure is typically for polyps within the womb rather than ovarian. What are you having done?

I've said what I'm having done 🙄 My question is about pain relief.

I’m meant to be having one done imminently. I have requested general as they want to do other procedures at the same. My understanding is you will have to advocate hard for yourself as they are typically unwilling to give pain relief even gas and air -it makes thing take longer and more expensive. It is meant to be painful and they will try to fob you off with x2 paracetamol at home before hand 🙄.

Wow that seems like a snippy response. I have experience of Myosure for uterine polyps and other procedures for ovarian cysts. I was trying to clarify what you were having done because Myosure is a hysteroscopic procedure ( into the womb) and they cannot reach the ovaries from there. A procedure to reach the ovaries requires a laparoscopy which is quite different. I thought you might have mis-written and was trying to help you get accurate answers about pain to be expected.
I won’t bother again.

I was coming along to say the same thing, @Bobbie12345678 - there’s something very strange about the OP’s anatomy if things are as she states! No-one is getting access to your ovaries via your cervix…

OP, I think you’d be wise to find out more about what your treatment will be before you ask any more questions. And maybe apologise for being rude to someone who was trying to help!

I had polyp removed from my womb via a hysteroscopy procedure and myosure technology. Requested a general anaesthetic. Still had to turn up to the hysteroscopy appointment and then refuse it and then ask for general at that time. Didn’t need
to Wait too long for the general, but I was on two week pathway. Some reports from women suggest hysteroscopy is tolerable but many others suggest it’s very painful. I didn’t want to take the chance because I’m not good at things like this. for the general it was half a day in hospital actual procedure took about 30 minutes then the rest is recovery from the general, home same day.
