Pain in genital area

42, on HRT, vagifem and local estrogen. The last few weeks I've had pain in my labia majora when underwear or seams of trousers press against it (basically when I'm sitting). I also have stinging around labia minora if my underwear gets damp and presses against it. I've to change my underwear a 2-3 times a day and sometimes I'll have to change my trousers in to tracksuit or pj's.

I went to vulva clinic and they didn't really know so prescribed thrush treatment and steroid cream but after 7 days I feel no improvement.

Has anyone else had this or am I alone in this?

If the hormones aren’t helping I’d consider that it’s not hormonal, and perhaps you need a dermatology referral. Also, I’d consider an STI check just to rule that out for future consultations.

You mention your underwear gets damp, could you be leaking small amounts of urine and that is irritating you?
