what's tmj?

It’s temporomandibular joint, which is the hinge connecting your lower jaw to your skull on each side of your face. and it flares up

I have had this sort of thing, but mine turns into a severe headache where i vomit- i was diagnosed with migraines but think it's actually a cervicogenic headache. I got them day 1/2 of period usually when i was about mid-30s after stopping breastfeeding. Sports massages helped relax the muscles and don't get it much anymore. It was bad about 18 months. Went to get botox in tmj to relax it, but apparently muscle was fine so didn't get botox. But that was about the stage it all resolved anyway.

I also have large cysts on my ovaries that causes a pain in my shoulder. Apparently this is linked. Just in case you have something like this. I've never worked out if the shoulder pain and neck pain/vomiting thing is caused by the same thing, but it was a couple of years between one resolving and the other starting. Both caused by hormones I think (stopping breastfeeding quivkly after 2nd child and perimenopause).
