From the point of your Gynae referral to having a hysterectomy how long did you have to wait?
Bonus points if you had the operation at St George's, Tooting.
I am absolutely desperate and just feel my life is on hold. I am 51 have adenomyosis and extremely heavy prolonged bleeding. I previously managed this using the Mirena coil but at the point of removal the nurse would not provide a new one based on her assessment of my cervix. Since then I have had a blood transfusion at the start of the summer hols and an iron infusion week before last - I still feel awful, shortness of breath, dizziness, exhausted and brain fog possibly because of continued heavy bleeding and regular clots around the size of a round tea bag. Tranexamic Acid is not making any noticeable difference.
I have asked for a hysterectomy and my NHS app shows the referral has been done and it states that average treatment time is 15 weeks, with 8 out of 10 people receiving treatment within 31 weeks. Am not entirely sure what sort of timescales I am looking at.
Realistically what sort of time frame am I looking at noting I haven't even received an appointment date yet.
Thanks for reading.
