Due to start sertraline tomorrow - when can I expect to see an improvement? Even if only mild? Keen to hear your experiences - thanks v much!

Give it at least 2/3 weeks. You might find you symptoms get worse before much better. Look after yourself as much as possible whilst settling into it.

Thank you so much for the words of encouragement - I’m now on day 12 and I am still feeling flat and low ☹️ I really do feel like stopping but I feel like I’ve come this far and should try and see it through

I am feeling slightly less anxious physically but my mood is really flat and low - has anyone experienced this? I’m really feeling uncertain as to whether this is working

Im feeling flat and so very tired. Im needing a nap in the day.
Had some trembling the first few days but that appears to have settled now.

Straight away. I felt nauseous that first day in summer 2025 taking it but been on it a year increasing to 100mg last autumn.

my anxiety was trauma related and ocd related - have a scar where necrotising fasciitis was concerned I’ll never hide but my battle wound/loss of flesh is the proof of fight.

Sertraline was absolutely my saviour.

2 weeks minimum before you start to feel better. You are nearly there keep going. You will feel better.

That's also normal

You will feel flat for a while yet, but you do come out the other side and begin to feel "normal" ( whatever that is )

For me it stops the utter panic . Ive been on it for so long now its part and parcel It means I can function Im not flat in mood, but Im also not swinging in mood However I have to admit Im not very compliant with meds and yesterday I had to drive to the city and half way there the panic, shortness of breath, reminded me I had stopped them for 2 weeks .

Give it another month and if you arent more comfortable with it, then go back. There are alternatives, different side effects, but sertraline is the starter of choice as its so cheap

You can feel bad for a few days but at the 2 week mark you will either notice a difference or not then they decide to up it or not...I'm on 150 but have been for years it took a long time to get to the right does for me but once we got there never changed for several years or had any bad times so worked...I have a friend who has been on 50 for years and that works right for her so we are all different
