I’m not sure if I’m overthinking it all but if anyone who has been diagnosed with adenomyosis or even someone with less brain fog than me could give me their thoughts on what if anything I should be doing , I’d appreciate it.
I am 50 and peri. Changed from sequential hrt to continuous hrt in January due to headaches and migraines. was having natural periods (I think ), rather than withdrawal bleeds on the sequential. Saw the GP again 2 weeks ago and told her I was having heavy periods, spotting in between , bloating , constipation , cramps / pains. She said she would have expected me not to bleed on continuous and would send me for a scan.
scan results came back abnormal. Enlarged and heterogenous womb , possible adenomyosis , no obvious fibroids , pelvic congestion was the gist of the report.
GP sent me on the cancer pathway to gynaecologist and told me to stop the hrt or at least cut the patches in half until cancer was ruled out. She also said it could feed into the adenomyosis.
so, letter said I’d be having another scan , a hysteroscopy and a biopsy. So, I turned up at gynae having taken painkillers and with a bladder full of water. worried somewhat that I could have cancer or at best adenomyosis.
Gynae seemed very blasé, said , there’s no reason to think cancer , you don’t need a scan , a biopsy or a hysteroscopy. There’s a couple of small fibroids but nothing to worry about. When questioned about the possible adenomyosis she told me , it’s a benign condition don’t worry. She then said I’d be better going back to sequential or having the mirena coil put in. I should up the dose of the hrt , half a patch is no better than none at all. That basically I’m bleeding because I’ve gone on continuous too soon and the bloating and constiparion is likely some other cause.
i was just relieved to be told I didn’t have cancer but now I’m thinking , so i may or may not have adenomyosis which could be making me bloated and painful but it’s ok it’s benign so I’ll never know ? Is hrt good or bad for me ? one wants me to stop hrt the others telling me to up it . What about the fibroids too ? scan report said there were none, gynae said there were two. Do they grow ? What happens ? I’ve had scans before and none of this has been seen.

do I just have to put up with the cramps and bloating now ?
it seems like they all say different.
