Period pain getting worse on hrt

I have been on HRT now for about 2 years. When I started on it around 48 my periods were fading and getting less regular. Now 2 years on they are back to being regular and the cramps are so bad. The only thing I can think of is that perhaps I sometimes forget to start the 2 week progesterone tablets (eg miss the first one or 2 out of 14) but otherwise the 2 oestrogen patches a week happens without fail. Anyone had similar? Also I was thinking to ask if I could change to continuous progesterone rather than cyclical. Would that stop periods altogether as that would be great. Thanks for reading

Following with interest, I’m 44 and suffering from really heavy and painful periods (along with other peri symptoms). Tried the coil for 18 months but got rid of it as it didn’t suit me at all. Some friends have suggested HRT but I fear this will only make things worse.
