Experiences of non-lactating mastitis and exhaustion while on antibiotics

Im hoping to find someone with any experiences of non-lactating mastitis. I’m 2 years post partum and had mastitis while feeding. I’m currently on my second round of antibiotics (co-amoxiclav) and I think it’s taking away the lump/pain in my breast, but the exhaustion is crazy. I’m day 6/7 of the antibiotics and still just so tired! I feel like this is quite rare so there isn’t much info out there.

I had nonlactating mastitis about 20 years ago, when my child was 13 years old. I was admitted to hospital for a couple of days and had intravenous antibiotics, then oral antibiotics upon discharge. Doctors initially planned to drain it, then changed their minds. The medics seemed to be very confused how I could have had it without breastfeeding, and someone added to my medical notes that I had a baby. They actually didn't believe me when I said I didn't.
I also has extreme tiredness afterwards and actually spent a few weeks mostly in bed. I recovered completely with no long term effects, and it hasn't returned.

Thanks for replying! The GP actually assumed I had a new born too!
I’ve been quite lucky and managed to avoid any abscess, I just had a hot patch and an area of pain and swelling which I’m sure has subsided. It’s reassuring you had the exhaustion also… I think it just puts your body into overdrive! 🥲
