Alternative to mini pill for heavy periods

I’ve recently been prescribed Zelletta alongside Oestrogel and Utrogestan as part of my HRT treatment. The pill is to help manage my very heavy periods caused by adenomyosis.

After 3 weeks I’ve spoken to my GP and come off it as I’ve been bleeding for 10 days, my migraines have returned and I feel wiped out amongst a whole host of other shitty symptoms.

Has anyone had any other treatment to help heavy periods? I do not want the Mirena as I’m worried that if it doesn’t agree with me like the pill has, I’m stuck with the bloody thing inside me for 6 months.

Following also, gp has referred me for another ultrasound and gynaecology but has said the waiting list is 18months and to try the coil before hand as that’s what they’ll say to do. I really don’t want the coil.
gp prescribed tranexamic acid but personally have found it doesn’t do much.

Tranexamic Acid was a life changer for me. Mefanamic acid can also work well. Go back for a further consultation.

Tried them all and nothing changed and ended up even worse on some so have up until got a new Dr and she said let's try menfamic acid and that changed it with not a single side effect

I have previously been prescribed tranaxemic acid but I found it didn’t do much to stem the flow but instead it elongated the duration of my period.
I really don’t want the coil.

The coil was perfect for me. It worked wonders.

@Parky04 Did it take long for any bleeding to settle down after you had it fitted?
I’ve been bleeding for 11 days now with this pill. My periods were bad before but at least they were over and done with in 5 days.

Settled within a few days. I'm actually having it removed next month as its been in there too long. I'm a bit nervous as to what will happen when it's removed. I'm 57 so hopefully not a lot will happen!

@Parky04 Thank you for that. It seems people either have a positive experience like you or have horrendously heavy bleeding for months until the doctor agrees to remove it! That’s why I’m so reluctant.
