Was this a vaginal prolapse?

Something weird happened to me yesterday and I’m freaking out a bit. Has anyone else has something like this, please? Warning - TMI coming up.
I was removing a tampon and it was a bit stuck and painful. It took an effort to pull it out. Immediately after something felt ‘weird’ down there and I could feel something with my finger - almost like another tampon was there. I used a mirror and could see a sort of ‘bulge’ just behind the entrance to my vagina. It wasn’t painful at all, just odd.
This morning it’s gone and all looks normal again.
Did I damage myself pulling out that tampon? Should I see a doctor?
For context, I’m 49 and on the progesterone only pill. I’ve had heavy bleeding recently and been using lots of tampons 😕
Thank you for any advice or solidarity!

Was the bulge at the front or back of your vagina?

If at the back, it could have been the form of a stool pressing against the vaginal wall on its way to the anus. The membranes between vagina and colon are quite thin, so stools to sometimes press up noticeably against the vaginal wall.

It was at the back. Now you’ve said that, I did sort of need the loo as well…hoping it was that!!
