How do period pants work in practice for medium to heavy flow?

I've bought some PP mainly as a back up if I'm sleeping away from home, to use with Body Form new style pads. I can't use tampons- too uncomfortable and I've had vaginal surgery in the past.

The PPs are M&S for heavy flow. I'm just curious how they work in use! I can't imagine they hold it all and if they need changing over a day.
I probably change my pad 3 x a day from getting up to bedtime. Medium to heavy flow for 2 days.

Where do you store used pants? Do you wash them immediately or have a PP bag?

Do they leak?

I use Wuka heavy flow period pants, one pair lasts me all day and I switch into night time pants when I get ready for bed. I used to change my pad 4 times a day between getting up and bedtime.

I rinse them immediately and then pop them in a wash bag until I’m ready to wash them.

I’ve never had an issue with them leaking
