Do period delay tablets still work if spotting has already started?

I got period delay tablets to take as we're away next week and they can get so heavy it would impact the holiday significantly. They're supposed to be taken 3 days before the start of your period but I had some light spotting today = 4 days before I was due on, so I'd not started the tablets yet. If I start taking them now are they likely to still have some effect? Potentially making the period lighter? Any personal experiences with this? Thanks!

Yes they still work. I recently took them for a holiday, took them as instructed. I am attending a wedding this weekend and had some left over so I have taken them again, this time leaving it too late and I noticed some very very faint spotting and then immediately took one, I am now two days on and still taking them (period has not come).

when I spoke to the nurse who originally prescribed them she also said that you can still take them when you first notice spotting and it will stop the period.

I was prescribed them to stop a never ending period caused by the pill so I think they would

@LadyInRainbow @Whatthefork1 Thank you for your responses. 😊 Did the tablets increase your pms symptoms? I've developed a banging headache after taking 2 which feels very much like a pms headache. I can be bordering on psychotic when I get pms mood swings so now I'm ever so slightly worried that my holiday won't be ruined by a heavy period but could be ruined by me feeling completely shit!!
