Experience of Evorel Conti with Mirena for bleeding and endometriosis?

Hoping for some advice on HRT. I’m 49 - had horrendous menopause symptoms that were debilitating (I have PMDD so the low moods were annihilating). When went on it I hadn’t had period for 5 months but hadn’t gone the full year. My gyney wanted me to try Evorel Conti plus a Mirena because I have endometriosis on both my bowel and my ovary. I opted for just Evorel Conti (I have to have continuous due to endo). My endo pain disappeared at first and certainly has never returned as it was before HRT. I feel 28 again and actually have never been better, all symptoms disappeared. But after 6 months I do have bleeding and I’m a little concerned. If I go back to gyney he’s going to want me to have a Mirena fitted but I’m very unsure about all that progesterone as the patch is continuous. Has anyone here experienced the Evorel Conti patch plus the Mirena? I’m worried about the BC cancer risk with all the progesterone but accept it might be beneficial for the bleeding.

I didn’t want the coil so I went on the mini pill instead alongside the HRT and found it worked for me - no bleeding etc after an initial few months of spotting.

Mirena was amazing. First few months are tricky but persevere. No periods, no pms, anxiety disappeared

Thank you so much - I hadn’t considered that option!

I tried Mirena coil but it was unbearable. Had it removed after 2 weeks. Had bad headaches, dizziness and awful heartburn after starting it. I have difficult time with most other progesterones giving me bleeding and headaches. I'm running out of options:-( I've just been prescribed Estradot Conti but I'm afraid of the form of progesterone in it, Norethisterone acetate, which apparently has higher risk of breast cancer. Wondering if anyone here has good results with evorel conti or estradot conti and if we should be worried about the form of progesterone in them?

What is the "mini pill"?

What is the "mini pill"?

Progesterone only pill, also known as the POP. As opposed the combined pill which has both oestrogen and progesterone.

Do you also take estrogen and which form of it?

Mirena coil was a godsend for me. After years and years of period trauma and living by the calendar, it’s changed my life. Within a few months, period free, migraine free, no side effects beyond first couple of months and the unpleasantness of the fitting it.

Yes, the evorel conti patch. So there is oestrogen and progesterone in that and then I take the mini pill as well. I have lupus and like the fact I have no bleeding whatsoever on the mini pill - although it’s normal to have some initial bleeding when you start it. I’ve also been on the oestrogel and utrogestan before (also alongside the mini pill) but found I kept bleeding, I don’t on the patches. I went into early menopause aged 37 due to autoimmune issues, I’m now 45. I don’t need the mini pill for contraception, I just like it for stabilising everything.
