If I take HRT will it remove mid-afternoon fatigue?

Mid 40s and clearly in peri. Afternoon fatigue slows me down. Do I need to do HRT to combat? Am active, reasonably good diet, busy mum

I’ve been on HRT for over 10 years and can always tell when it’s 3 0’clock without looking, as my afternoon slump happens on a daily basis! I think avoiding carbs or sugar at lunch helps a bit, or doing something gently active rather than being sedentary when it hits.

I'm on HRT and wouldn't say it works like that, no.

HRT reduced some of my symptoms - mainly the hot flushes stopped completely and as a consequence my nighttime sleep improved quite a lot, which obviously has a knock on effect on general tiredness but isn't a miracle - I didn't suddenly have vastly more energy.

Working full time in an outside the home role requiring constant alertness remained tiring, juggling and worrying about teenagers and at that point preteens too remained mentally tiring and continued to interfere with sleeping. My brain remains more prone to overdrive, over thinking and spiralling at night than ten years ago.

In peri I had incredibly long, heavy, flooding and irregular periods and the HRT I took in peri regulated my periods back to more normal ones. I stopped that and my periods stopped, and later I started different HRT.

It is definitely worth looking into and for mm evis beneficial but I'd say there's no guarantee at all it'll eradicate afternoon tiredness, which could have a number of causes.

I agree with a carb/sugar free lunch. It really helps minimise the slump. And the later the better for the lunch, since that shortens the afternoon too!
