Breakthrough bleeding on the mini pill at 40, worth further investigation?

I'm 40 and have been on the mini pill for about 7 years (suspected endo / anedno which isn't too painful whilst on the pill).

I never used to get bleeding other than my period, and still had (less strong) ovulation pain whilst taking it.

About 6 months ago I had a couple of months of a couple of days of bleeding around ovulation. Then this month basically a full 5 day (lighter than usual but still very much a) period a week after my last one stopped.

Doctor swabbed me and has diagnosed thrush. I don't have any other symptoms of thrush. Happy to take the tablet, but surely that's not responsible for so much bleeding? Would you keep pushing for investigations if the bleeding comes back in future?

I had new onset irregular bleeding on the implant twice, and was sent for an ultrasound both times after swabs didn't find anything.

I expect because your swab came up as thrush they've lost interest. Yes if the bleeding is still there once you've finished the thrush treatment then definitely go back.
