Vaginal soreness

Looking for similar experiences.
about 2 months ago I was very sore/burning/ achey “down there” one evening I went for a wee and felt an almighty tearing sensation in my vagina that shot down my leg- took my breath away! When i wiped there was some pink spotting. Next day i went to the out of hours. Dr did dipstick and swab. Urine came back fine but swab showed bacterial vaginosis. GP did no prescribe antibiotics due to no smelly discharge? 2 months on i am still irritated achey and sore down there… the type of thing you expect to subside soon but it hasnt. Ive also been experiencing some very minimal pink spotting mid-cycle coinciding with particular painful days/lots of walking. The pain is worse when sitting/ stretching / pressure on it . Went back to GP who did another swab, waiting results, could this still be the BV? I do have discharge but i dont think its abnormal 🤷🏻‍♀️ thank you

Did they do an internal? Have you a prolapse?

That’s good. I’d go back and tell them you want investigations to diagnose why you have the symptoms you have, don’t take no for an answer

Two months is a long time for BV symptoms to linger untreated, but the pain and spotting could also be from something else. I'd wait for the swab results and push for further investigation if symptoms continue. Hope you get some answers soon.

I had similar symptoms and it turned out not to be BV, so I'd definitely push for further checks if it's still ongoing.

I’ve finally started antibiotics for BV after my dr smelled it when having a smear. I’ve been telling them for at least 6 months there’s something not right, bloody discharge, pelvic pain, even had an ultrasound (showed adenomyosis). Hoping some of the symptoms will go soon (on day 4/7 now). Previous swabs were clear although I was definitely symptomatic

You can buy boric acid suppositories that do wonders at balancing out your pH.

Hope you feel better soon! Did you have any soreness/ discomfort?

Yes, but not so much since I started vaginal oestrogen though- I think that was more from dryness, the skin would split sometimes 😭 (45 and peri)
