Could this crampy vaginal pain after antibiotics be BV again?

years ago i had a swab for vaginal pain - that’s the only symptom i remember and it came back i had BV.
i have recently been treated for a UTI finished my antibiotics yesterday and today the pain is back. sits crampy across top of vagina/bladder and a bit achy lower back.
im wondering if i could have BV again.
when i wiped earlier i did have lots of clear discharge when i wiped i felt extremely ‘wet’!

could this be BV?

You can get a canesten test for thrush / BV at the supermarket. Very possible after antibiotics.

It can do yes. Antibiotic’s can upset the vaginal microbiome. Have you tried Optibac for women to restore the balance and the gel treatment from chemist / supermarket?. I have struggled with BV due to menopause and I found DAYE website very helpful. I did the microbiome test through them but I would only do it if it was something that came back regularly.

i am willing to give anything a try. I’ve never really suffered UTI’s.
the pain feels exactly the same as when i had a UTI but urine samples coming back negative, the pain is right at the top of my bladder it’s quite intense and can be quite a shooting pain. It’s constant but i only
finished antibiotics late last night and already the pain is back 😭😭

I’ve had the same problem with UTI tests coming back negative and Dr fobbing me off. The DAYE test was a game changer as it tests for things the NHS doesn’t plus gives you an idea of which bacteria are out of sync so you can take a targeted approach. You get a phone consultation with a Gynae nurse too. It gives women a chance to take control of their vaginal health as Drs are clueless

Could be aerobic vaginitis if not BV.

the nurse has sent off another urine sample and a swab. Will this be checked for on the swab?

@Kirstymariex no AV is not widely recognised in this country so no probably not. If you think you have this (do a bit of research to see if the symptoms fit) I may be able to advise further.

A company called Digital Microbiology also does a very good vaginal microbiome private test service that I would recommend.

Yes you order the test, they send you a kit which is very simple, you post the sample back and 10 days later you receive a full report of your vaginal microbiome and a telephone chat with a gynae nurse to talk you through them and advise on treatment. A lot of the time Drs keep throwing antibiotics at you which makes it worse in the long run. Daye website is a bit clunky so you have to search around for the testing but I used the microbiome test.
