Chair period stain at work...

Help, I am freaking out. First day of period, usually it's quite light but I used a night pad as all I had, thought all was fine, I was super busy in work, at my desk all morning and now I pop home for lunch to find blood has leaked right through my trousers, pad is totally soaked. I'm freaking out that the light grey chair I sit on in the office has blood stains on it now. I work with nearly all men so it's obviously me. What can I do?? Or say if there's blood stains on the chair... Has this happened to anyone before? I'm so embarrassed.

Don't forget to clean blood with cold water or you will set the stain. I would give it a clean at the end of the day with quite a bit of water and let it dry overnight. Bring a hand towel tomorrow in case it hasn't quite dried.

Oh my! Only learned about these today on the Luxury Pod!! Apparently a gamechanger and I’m getting these next time I’m in town.

Throughly damp a towel cover the area in salt it will leech the stain out then more towels cloths to get the wet out. when it's just damp use a stain remover or dry cleaning fluid. Alternatively if you or a friend/relative are crafty make a cover and elasticate around- a cool print would be favourite- good luck.

Unless your workmates are 12 year old boys, you don’t need to worry. They probably wouldn’t notice (who notices other people’s chairs).
I agree with the idea of accidentally spilling something else on it.
And hope you are ok. Such heavy periods must be draining.

I had horrendous periods before the best day of my life which was a hysterectomy! I was adept at carrying a dark lightweight scarf/cardi which I put down before I sat down!
At 2 different employers I was the one protesting at light grey as the choice for the chair with very graphic reasoning!

It happened to me. It was the first "normal" period after a miscarriage. No one said anything. I went in early next day with a roll of kitchen roll. Soak the stain with cold water then soak it up with kitchen roll. Repeat until the soaked up liquid is clear. Squeeze down with kitchen roll until there's nothing more to soak up.

I had this happen to me at work, luckily it was a school plastic chair but I was so embarrassed, luckily I managed to clean it without anyone being aware. I always put my jacket or cardigan down on the chair when I had my period as an extra layer from then on. Maybe get some period pants as well as an extra layer along with your pad.

True, but some people giggle or make gag sounds about those who have GI issues/colostomy bags, so it depends on the kind of people you work with.
OP, I came on to say that if you are suddenly heavier than usual, you might want to get it checked out. Really hope you don't mind me saying, but this might help you or other people on here- I put up with suddenly heavy periods for a while and it turned out to be something I should have got sorted out sooner.
