For the last few months I have noticed nausea and feeling really off a couple of days before my period. This month the nausea 2 days before wss awful to the point I thought I was coming down with a stomach bug. It comes on as hot flashes and my cheeks and chest feel warm and flushed. I finished my period yesterday and today feel exactly the same and needing to poo a lot but its not diarrhoea. I am 35.

This is a sign of high prostaglandins which are released before your period, my daughter gets this, she's prescribed antihistamines to reduce nausea and mefenamic acid to reduce the prostaglandins the week before shes due on.

It only seems to have started the last few months since having a bug and a cold. Does she get it after her period too? I finished yesterday and the same symptoms I had a couple of days before are back.

Hmm no, usually goes after the first couple of days, maybe see how you go, if it happens again I'd see the GP.

Sounds hormonal honestly. PMS can cause nausea, hot flushes, and tummy changes before or around your period. If it keeps happening every month or gets worse, definitely worth checking with your GP.

I get the same, and I assume it’s excess prostaglandins. It isn’t constant though and it is often worse when my period has pretty much finished. It’s like a band of solid pain across the tip of my stomach and frequent pooping 🙄.

i have a gynae rdv next month and going to talk to her about it.

Same has happened again this month but worse. Hardly been able to eat for the last 48 hours due to the nausea and heaving.
