PMDD help

I’m fairly sure I struggle with PMDD

over the years I have been to the drs several times discussing my symptoms and struggles but until the last year or so (I think when PMDD became an actual thing) I didn’t realise what it was

I struggle to the point that im inconsolable, I feel like a different person, I make decisions I wouldn’t usually make - I’m all over the place snapping at my children, self sabotaging relationships etc

I really need some advice as my dr just seems to think the pill will work?

does anyone else struggle? Or have any advice?

The pill probably will work as it stops the hormone cycle.

You could also try antidepressants?

The pill is worth trying - some are recommended for PMDD. But some women find the hormones in the pill cause issues, Mirena can often worsen symptoms (but can help for some). There’s a big trial and error element to see what, if any, hormonal treatment works for you.

Antidepressants taken 2 weeks a month (from ovulation to period) or continuously is also a treatment
