Spotting for over a week ?!

Hey everyone, I’m looking for some advice or to hear from anyone who’s experienced something similar before.

I’m 25 years old, not currently pregnant, have normal cycles, and no known fertility issues. I also have a 5-year-old child.

I do sometimes get spotting around ovulation, but it usually only lasts 1–2 days. I had sex on April 25th and everything was normal. Then on Tuesday, April 28th, I started spotting. My Flo app said I was ovulating that day, so I didn’t think much of it at first. However, the spotting still hasn’t stopped. Sometimes it’s been slightly heavier than usual, but still not enough to need a pad.

It’s now May 10th and I’m still spotting. I booked a GP appointment and they checked my cervix, which they said looked fine. They also took swabs to check for infections and booked me in for hormone blood tests next month around the time of my period.

In the past, I had some spotting issues and was referred to a gynae specialist. They said I had cervical erosion at the time, but everything else was normal. I’ve also had ultrasounds of my reproductive organs that came back normal, and my recent smear test was normal too.

I honestly don’t know what could be causing this. My period is due in 7 days and I’m not having any pain with the spotting either. Has anyone experienced anything similar or have any idea what it could be?

Persistent spotting can be due to hormones, cervical changes, or mild infection. Wait for your test results and track any new symptoms. See a doctor if bleeding worsens or pain appears.
