Cervical polyp and bleeding

I posted earlier in the week about being anxious after a post coital bleed.
I went to the GP today who had a look and said he can see a polyp and a clot of blood and has referred me under the two week rule. I’m now terrified. Anyone had this and it turned out ok? 😢

Don't know if its at all helpful but I had polyps, had to cancel having them lasered twice (over a long period of time) and then when I went to be checked for a re-referral they'd disappeared. Try not to worry too much, easier said than done but you don't know what could happen and stress and worry can only make it worse. All the best xx

It's understandable to be anxious, but polyps and blood clots are often benign. The two-week referral is a precaution to ensure thorough checking. Most cases turn out fine, so try to stay positive.

90% of those on the two week pathway won’t have cancer to reassure you. If you are younger you are also statistically much less likely to have cancer.

Thank you for everyone that posted on here.
I had my colposcopy and it was fine. Everything was ok but they could see bleeding from blood vessels on the outside of the cervix. I thought that was an ectropian but he didn’t call it that?
