Bleeding after deep sex and struggling with health anxiety

At the weekend, DH and I had very very deep sex. He went a bit deep and I told him to stop which he did. After I then bled and then spotted until the next morning.
tried to get a GP appointment for today but they were full by 8.01!
I also have health anxiety and need to deal with the possibility that I may not be seen until later in the week.
I have fully spiralled into panic!

Is this the first time it’s happened? Whats making you spiral?

ThirtysomethingMummy · 05/05/2026 21:30

I’ve had spotting in the past but never this 😢

That happened to me. I had an erosion on my cevix, which I had treated. It’s nothing much and not related to cancer.

Maybe try and get an appointment at your local sexual health clinic.

Motherearthisbusy · 05/05/2026 21:37

It will be fine it’s just messed with your cervix. When was your last period?

LookForTheLiight · 05/05/2026 21:38

You can have something called an ectropion on your cervix. I’ve just had one diagnosed! V common and nothing to worry about. Google it and you’ll be reassured x

RoseField1 · 05/05/2026 21:40

This is really nothing to worry about. He's just poked your cervix and caused a bit of bleeding.

ThirtysomethingMummy · 06/05/2026 08:53

thank you.
I have had ectropians before but only when pregnant which I am certainly not.
I panic every time I get spotting but this was a lot more 😢

Ring your local sexual health clinic for an appointment, you can sometimes book on line too.

I know how it feels to have health anxiety; you can't be rational.

You had some rough sex, and you started bleeding after. If you think about it without panicking, you will see how it makes sense, and it's just your head catastrophising. Sex can even start your period sometimes; our bodies are crazy.

Don't overthink it and breathe.

TheStepboardisfullofbitteroddos · 06/05/2026 13:54

If it was just a tiny bit of blood then there's probably no need to panic. Just think if you had a tiny graze on your arm or leg you wouldn't feel so alarmed. It's just because you can't see it.

Are you due a smear anytime soon? They can take a look then- 2 birds one stone if it helps?
