Endometrial ablation and infection

I had a endometrial ablation 1 week ago today and thought I would of had a pretty straight forward recovery from what I had read from other woman’s experiences. I was fine after waking up and for 2 days after but then began getting lower stomach pain and left sided pain when I walked. I thought maybe I had trapped wind as I was struggling to use the loo! I then started to get terrible discharge (sorry tmi) and increase pain and took myself to the out of hours clinic and have been told I have l an infection and I’m now on antibiotics! Im on day 2 of the antibiotics and still feeling lousy. Has anyone else had had an infection after their ablation? I’m now so anxious about how it’s all healing in their and what the outcome will be in terms of my periods etc :(

Yes I had this but mine was 15 years ago. I did feel horrible for a few days. My ablation failed though. I was one in a few this happens to. Go back to the GP if you’re not feeling better. Antibiotics usually only take a few days to start working g so you should be starting to feel a bit better.

Yes, some women do get infections after an ablation, and it can make recovery feel rough for a few days.
Antibiotics usually take a bit of time to kick in, but most people still recover well and go on to have much lighter or no periods.
