Copper coil fallen out after 1 year!

My copper coil has fallen out! I had it put in just over a year ago after a premature birth (25 weeks). Definitely do not want another pregnancy after the last one.

I had no symptoms before it fell out and it was all in one piece. My last period only lasted 3 days and wasn't particularly heavy, when they usually last 4-5 days. I find this very strange!

Has anyone else had this with a copper IUD?

Yes it's how I got pregnant with number 2!!! Went to feel my strings after having them trimmed shorter few months ago. Couldn't feel. Was a bit wary so did pg test few days after... almost fell over
Did an ultrasound scan to find coil and check it wasn't an ectopic pg
No coil !!!!!!
Didn't even feel or see or notice it had fallen out.. Dr said it probably passed out with a heavy period (coil side effect) !

Needless to say I decided against a coil after that pregnancy, a shame as I loved the non hormones

Copper IUDs can fall out without symptoms. Your period may change, but you’re now unprotected. See a doctor ASAP for backup or a new IUD.
