Large blood clot hour after coil fitting

I had a mirena coil fitted today. I bleed quite a bit after which I don't remember with my copper coil. An hour after I passed a large blood clot. Without being too gross, it was fairly hard/jelly.

I'm still having a fair amount of blood. It's not spotting.

I have been on the POP pill since mid Feb and I should have had a period start of this month.

Could it just be delayed period and the GP up there has set it off somehow?

Hey, I had mine fitted in December and bled a fair bit in the week after. That sounds normal but if you’re in doubt, give your nurse a call so that she can reassure you. I had mine checked a few weeks ago as I couldn’t feel my strings but was reassured it was all fine in less that 3 minutes.

A large clot and heavier bleeding can be your delayed period starting after insertion.
But if bleeding stays heavy (soaking pads hourly), severe pain, or dizziness, get checked immediately.

Had fibroids sensations up until a year ago.

Suddenly after a pe/clot experience - the fibroid never bothered again, it is so very odd.

To the day they put me in the ground or burn me I remain convinced that fibroid played a part and continues.
