Peri-menopause and bleeding

I'm wondering if this is just standard peri crap, or if I should go to the GP?
I'm 48 and I've had irregular periods for the last 3 or 4 years -cycles between 14 days and 55 days. Oestrogen was normal last time I had a blood test, but progesterone was low, so I take progesterone only HRT.
I've never had bleeding between periods any time in my life, however my last cycle was 19 days with some spotting on a few days, and this current cycle I bled properly for 7 days (usually my periods are 4 days) and then have continued to have daily light bleeding or spotting for the following 14 days. It's not constant, but comes and goes throughout the day.

Does this sound pretty normal for peri?

Go and see your GP and ask for a scan. You can’t be too careful.

It could be but I also think you should get a scan to rule out something more serious.
