To boob job or not....?!

I have a consultation at end of the month with plastic surgeon to discuss breast augmentation, boob job!
I'm 36, 2 DC, my youngest I breast fed for nearly 2 years. Breast have always been small, C cup but don't look what you think would be a C, always felt they looked smaller. Since kids they have got even smaller and lost all volume at the top. Slight droop but it's more loss of breast tissue that I think makes them look so awful. Just very soft, light, flat.
I just can't decide how badly I want the surgery. I hate how they look now, but surgery comes with so many considerations.
Any advice from people who have had them? Would you do it again? Worth it? Not worth it?
thanks

Got mine done after 2 children and breastfeeding. I got implants plus uplift. Don't regret them at all, possibly would have gone a bit smaller but that's only as I've got older. If it feels good, and makes you happy, go for it.

Your first post op describes me to a T, only I’m 38. Otherwise I could have written the same! I’ve been to a surgeon, got scribbled on etc but then bottled it with all the risks. For me what I hate most is the spaniels ears I’ve got as a result of no volume at the top.

I feel so sad for society reading these kinds of posts. I’m nearly 50 and anyone thinking anything negative about my body can get fucked. I wish more people could think like this. What you describe, op, is 100% normal. You are coming up for 40, it’s fine to look your age.

BeingATwatItsABingThing · 04/04/2026 19:48

I’m nearly 32, have had three kids and feel exactly the same. I’ve started looking into implants because it gets me down how much I don’t like my boobs.

ClaredeBear · 04/04/2026 20:01

I’ve had implants for around 25 years. Never regretted it. I was an AA (basically rolled up flaps of skin), after children and went to a D. I down sized a few years ago to a small C but there was nothing wrong with my OGs.

Legolaslady · 04/04/2026 20:03

How old are you children?
My breasts looked really deflated after breastfeeding but they did perk up a lot and now look better than they did 10 years ago

Bombombomtralala · 04/04/2026 20:05

I have always wanted bigger boobs but never looked into it because of the cost.

MaryAlixe · 04/04/2026 20:07

Have BF two children (older than you), B cup (in proportion to my body, otherwise I’d look less slim imo) which has naturally softened with age, was brought up to love my body and continue to believe this as DH endorses this. Very body confident. Have never once considered surgery. Ofc your decision.

I’ve never known anyone who had a boob job who didn’t have to have further surgeries down the line. It’s very rarely a one and done thing.

Possibly cheaper in the long run to spend a bit of money coming to terms with your body as is and why you think you need to look a certain way?

youalright · 04/04/2026 20:11

I've had a lot of surgeries (not cosmetic) and I just don't think the risks are worth it. People do die from surgery or have long term consequences its a big risk to take unnecessarily. Have you looked at different types of bras their are some really good ones now.

I had exactly the same thing.

My youngest is now 3, so they've had a year to recover. I just don't see things changing now. So great yours came back to life and still look good!

This is what holding me back- extra things that might need to happen later down the line. Lots to consider

So true, need to be sensible before making any decisions. A decent bra would definitely help so I will make the a priority. It's just when I'm naked, I feel so crappy about my upper body and don't feel sexually confident at all. So then I think is it worth feeling this way if I can change it

I’m 6 weeks PO from lift and implants. I am beyond happy with the result. I feel so much more confident. I had lost a lot of weight and just had no breast tissue. Could you maybe just have a lift if you have a good amount of breast tissue?

Merseymum1980 · 04/04/2026 23:25

If i could afford it id get a reduction and uplift. I say go for it

TinyHousemouse · 04/04/2026 23:28

I’m 40, and was diagnosed with breast cancer at 37, just after I’d had a baby. I’d always hated my boobs (A cup, and I have an v wide rib cage as well and no hips plus a belly no matter what weight I am so I hated my whole torso) and saved up for a boob job, promising myself I’d get one one day. Well - one boob tried to kill me, and now I’m lopsided with a lovely scar in my armpit too as it had spread to my lymph nodes - and I honestly couldn’t give a shit and I will not be doing anything about it. I don’t want anything getting in the way of knowing if the fucker has come back for a start. A very extreme way of curing my lifelong hatred of my boobs but cure me it did…and the boob job money went on a holiday, where I finally put a swimsuit on to paddle with DD in the sea.

OP I’ve had body dysmorphia, various EDs and poor body image since I was 12 years old. I wasted so much time and energy. If you want to do it, go for it but don’t assume it will solve all your body image issues because it may not, and you’ll have spent the money to transfer the worry elsewhere.
