Breast Lump

Hey all,

First off I have been to the gp & I’m awaiting my breast clinic appointment but just wanted to see if anyone has had similar.

I have a large breast lump just above nipple. Almost feels like it’s bulging out. It’s very close to the surface so I can feel it with minimal touch. When laying down it feels different - very large, overall it is oval but seems to not really have a smooth edge and the surface can feel a bit rippled.

I have had lots of breast cysts in the past but not had one in this location that has been so close to the surface and easy to feel. It does feel like the largest one I’ve had to.

Has anyone had one like this?

I know I just need to wait for the scan but I am so worried and just looking for any similar situations.

Had a giant breast cyst like that! Sounds an identical description!

@TheBeaTgoeson1 thanks so much for replying. It’s just concerning it’s so big and you read so much stuff about they should be smooth and it’s not so that’s really what’s worrying me. Do you remember if yours was smooth?

Hi I have a large breast lump too and am waiting for the breast clinic appointment. The dr could see it without feeling. How have you got on?

Hey, I had my appointment last week. It was another cyst. That’s what mine was like too, it was right up against the skin surface.

Mine was like a big grape / small sprout - although near the outside underside of my breast - not at the top. You could most definitely feel it / see it. I apparently have LOADS of small ones IN the breast tissue I had no idea about.

My gp notes in the NHS app describe it as firm and tethered…

@Yellowsky21 hope you get your appointment soon. I’ve had quite a few and once read the app too & they wrote ‘hard and irregular’ and I was so worried for weeks until the appointment.

NHS breast clinic tomorrow. Should I be alarmed that is so quick?

The oval smooth lump now feels flatter and less defined. I am on HRT which should give me my period over the next few days so I’m not sure how much is usual breast changes

@Yellowsky21 In my experience I’ve had some appointments within a few days and some weeks later. Hasn’t seemed to be a pattern at all. The good news is you have your appointment and tomorrow you will have a clearer idea of what’s going on. They will give you an idea tomorrow even if they need to wait for a result.
