Low estrogen 33 years old

Hi all

Oh gosh any advice support would be great. I’m 33 years old and going through what feels like hell at the moment.

I haven’t had a period since September 2024, been going back and forth doctors with issues around tiredness etc for a while now. My FSH levels are coming back fine but they seem to think it’s because I’m on microgynon pill.

I had a call off doctor last week saying my Serum inorganic phosphate levels are 0.6 and my estrogen levels are 55 which the said explains how I have been feeling.

I am struggling with work as by 12pm I hit a wall, I want to sleep all the time, I get hot flashes on around my face a lot of the time, and I have been put on a gynae referral list.

Any ideas what could be going on?! Anyone else ever had any of this above?

I have no motivation, lost interest in so many things.

I am fed up :(

I would be wondering why they’ve tested your FSH levels at all. The wrong tests done on the wrong days give meaningless results.

You need to have blood tests to check your thyroid function. Have a read of Thyroid UKs website as this is useful and non woo. If your current gp practice is unhelpful change gp practice and go to someone now proactive.

Thank you, they checked my thyroid and everything seems fine :(

Hormonal blood tests aren’t reliable if you’re on hormonal medication. Ideally you’d need to come off your pill for three months prior to bloods to allow for more accurate results for oestrogen, FSH etc.

What hormone levels were tested re your thyroid gland?. Something is clearly not right given your symptoms and the cause has not yet been determined.

Your symptoms suggest a hormonal imbalance, especially low estrogen, possibly affected by the pill.
Low phosphate may also be causing your extreme tiredness.
Your gynae referral should help find the exact cause and treatment.
