Persistent blocked nose and fluctuating smell after infection, any advice?

Hi ladies...I recently had a chest infection which lingered after antibiotics. It progressed to my sinuses about 3 weeks ago and I got more antibiotics and steroids which got rid of the cough thankfully. Doc sent me for chest xray which was clear. I'm now left with a constantly blocked nose...worse in the mornings and my sense of smell and taste keeps coming and going. I sound like I have a headcold all the time. It's so frustrating. I'm using sinus rinse, antihistamines, nasal sprays ...I've thrown everything at it but the nasal issues persist and can't get to my doc til end of April. Has anyone else suffered like this? I have huge health anxiety so go gently! 🥰 thanks for reading!

What nasal sprays are you using OP? If it’s something like ortravine you should only use it for 3 days or it can cause a blocked nose.

Hi @thinkfast yes it's Otrivine I'm using but only got it this week so haven't really used it that much to be honest as it's got a horrible taste! The best thing so far I've found is Sinutab...they actually relieve it a bit and I can taste and smell reasonably better after taking them but they're not advised long term either 🥲
