Migraines and headaches 10 days before period: any GP hormone tests?

Im wondering if anyone suffers from migraines/headaches around their time of the month? Literally every month, at least 10days before I start my period, I get tiredness, nausea, headaches, loss of appetite, low mood, stressed more easy & usually this triggers a horrible migraine where I just feel lethargic, & wiped out. I take rizatriptan when I get migraine symptoms.. its definitely hormone related. Im just wondering if theres hormone checks that could be done at the gp, has anyone experienced this? I hope this makes sense ok as im currently going through this & my head is splitting 😮‍💨Thank you.

I had this and went onto the progesterone only pill. Went from having 3 migraines a week to none for 7 years. Will take about 6 weeks for hormone levels to even out but it was a life changer for me.

Yes, this sounds like hormonal (menstrual) migraines, which are very common before periods due to hormone changes. Your symptoms like fatigue, nausea, low mood, and headaches 7–10 days before fit this pattern. A GP can check basic blood tests (like iron or thyroid) and guide treatment, including preventive options or better timing of your migraine medicine.
